Mum, look at me. I’m a finalist
Well, would you look at that… I’ve only gone and made the finals of the Outrageously You Awards - in the Outrageously Vibrant category no less.
Turns out showing up with truth, owning who you are with energy and frankly being unapologetically me doesn’t go unnoticed. Who knew that (finally) acknowledging being a square peg is my super power, that refusing to shrink to fit feels like freedom, adding in a good splash of Northern grit feels like realness and a a good pair of trews with pockets is always to be celebrated.
This one means a lot. Because it’s not about being the loudest in the room. It’s about being fully you in every room. Even the ones that weren’t built with you in mind. And then when you get in a room that’s not opening you in with open arms having the courage to walk back out and build your own blinking room.
✨ It’s for the women who’ve rewritten the rules.
✨ The ones who bring the fire without burning out.
✨ The ones who refuse to shrink to fit.
✨ The ones still finding their fire.
This finalist spot isn’t just mine - it’s for every woman who’s been told she’s too much, too bold, too bright, too sweary (which also aptly always auto corrects to sweaty) or (my personal favourite) a bit of a square peg in a round hole.
Massive shoutout to the Outrageously You Awards and Kayleigh Lloyd for creating a space where wonderful, fully-alive females get to be seen. Where passion, realness and vibrancy is celebrated.
To every other finalist - I see you, jeez louise; what a line-up. And what a job for the judges. (Wouldn’t fancy it, to be honest, but I cannot wait to celebrate all of us in September.)
If you’re watching from the sidelines, take this as your sign:
Your personality isn’t a liability. It’s your power card. That’s your plot twist sister.
