Training, Development & Coaching

I’ve written all the courses, all the programmes, all the details out on here and then I realised that the best possible way for us to work together is to simply have a chat about what your needs are, to look at how I can help you based on the knowledge, experience and expertise I have.

It might be that there’s a course I’ve run already that suits your purpose, it might be that once we’ve had a conversation, I see a need you don’t see and we tailor a different programme. It might be that I recommend something or someone else. It might be that I’m not for you.

It all starts with a chat, with a conversation so get in touch and let’s talk.

Working with Leaders

Sarah’s skill lies in first understanding the different needs and demands on the individual, understanding their lens on the world, their challenges, their barriers, their mindset.

And then she develops programmes that start with self-leadership, self-awareness; working with leadership teams to understand the impact of their own behaviours and how their behaviours can be contagious and cascade through every single level of the business. From that crucial cornerstone, leadership programmes look at evolving human leaders building powerful leadership impact frameworks.

Training can incorporate navigating challenging conversations, managing conflict and delivering feedback whilst building positive workplace relationships.

Training can include building a success mindset, supercharging performance.

Knowing how to have the right conversation is a transformative skill in developing the leaders of tomorrow. And it’s the art of having the right conversation to generate a positive outcome that is often at the heart of building performance teams.

“Sarah has been my mentor for the past few months as part of the Help to Grow Programme at the University of Salford. I have not worked with a mentor before during my 20 years in business and did not really know what to expect.

I have to say that I have found the service Sarah provided to be extremely helpful, inspiring and thought provoking. Sarah has come up with suggestions to implement across our businesses that I would not have thought of, she has inspired us to develop new systems, services and solutions, as well as give a gentle nudge here and there to do things we should really be doing but haven’t managed to get round to! Working with Sarah to go through a business model canvas, a business growth plan and produce a timetable to work towards in future has been particularly useful for me personally and our group of companies, and we plan to continue with the work over the coming months and years. I can highly recommend Sarah for her skills as a mentor, guiding and advising businesses towards future success, and am very grateful for her assistance.”

Working with Teams

Building teams that work and collaborations that matter are at the heart of Sarah’s work with teams. Often held as workshops, they are fun, fast-paced with huge energy in the room.

Sarah also specialises in providing away days that are memorable and have real impact in the workplace. Away days are an opportunity to bring together a team, develop personal skills, build and elevate a growth mindset and positively reinforce working collaboratively, evolving communication skills, understand our influencing abilities and how we can flex our personal styles to bring our best self to work and how we can positively affect others. And have fun.

And what better way than to bring in some LEGO. Sarah is also a LEGO Serious Play Trainer

The process of making something, which is then discussed, leads to more valuable, more insightful and more honest discussions. Lego Serious Play is a facilitated thinking, communication and problem-solving technique for the use in teams and businesses. It is a process designed to enhance innovation and ‘thinking with our hands’ opening up conversations. It’s based on research that shows that this kind of hands on, minds on learning produces deepens the reflection process and supports an effective dialogue – for all levels.

Typically, workshops focus on challenging issues or developing strategies bringing people together to collaborate and communicate (who doesn’t love building a Lego tower). Read more here.

Workplace Culture

As a workplace culture consultant, I help businesses and organisations develop and build a workplace culture that is more than a tick box or a mission statement pasted on a wall.

The workplace culture programmes begin with insight; insight into the business, the leadership team and the people exploring what will help individuals thrive and, crucially, what is realistic, feasible and actionable. Sarah works with organisations to help you plan, evolve and develop workplace culture strategies from the inside out. Culture cascades from the leadership team but is enabled by every single person in the organisation and business; and so Sarah looks at how behaviours and actions translate into a positive culture economy that lives and breathes rather than simply a poster child for award entries.

Sarah is also a ADHD workplace champion helping organisations and individuals thrive building an inclusive environment.

As a menopause workplace specialist, Sarah also advises workplaces on building psychologically safe workplaces.

“Sarah, you have made a ginormous difference to our agency, culture and team as our on-hand ‘Talent Coach’ and all-round human skills guru.
You have a unique style, warmth, humour and insight that only 20+ years in the wonderful world of business can create and you impart it (across all sectors/ businesses) with wisdom and relatability.”

– Nina Webb - CEO, Brazen

Coaching can be provided as a one-off breakthrough power session or a series of coaching sessions to facilitate ongoing change and development.

  • "Few people have the opportunity to report to a manager who is also a coach, mentor, friend but I did when I met Sarah 8 years ago. She went from my boss to someone I’m currently collaborating with and in-between has always been my sounding board at the end of the phone, email and of course, over a glass of wine. She has coached me through some tough decisions as well as helping me to find the balance between working full time and having toddler twins."
